The Boatman’s Song

“Ao Ai,” chant the boat trackers as they drag a ship to shore, against the current, against the wind. Directed by Hai-Tao Wu, “The Boatman’s Song” is the confluence of vision and interpretation of two contemporary artists, guqin player Judy Yeh and dancer Yi-Chun “Billy” Chang, of the centuries-old Chinese song “Ao Ai.”

Filmmaker Hai-Tao Wu is the creative director of the New York City-based production company Mad Hatter Media (madhattermediagroup.com). His film “Heartland” won best picture and best documentary at the Finger Lakes Film Festival.
